Thor's Powers #8

You have to admit, this is a good power too, though maybe not as appreciated.

Have you ever wanted it to stop raining? I've been at many a bus stop where I've wished for this power. Thor can turn on storms with two taps of his hammer, and then he can turn them off with three taps. It's pretty logical, though if you're in England tapping your umbrella on the ground three times, the best result you can hope for is that someone at least gets the reference. Go Thor!

Thor's Powers #7

This is kind of a conditional power: Part magic power, part random trivia.

Thor's hammer returns when he throws it, (but not when he "tosses" it, as we found out in the first "Thor vs. Radioactive Man" issue.)

But, not only is it important that the hammer is capable of doing this, but it was also important that Don Blake remembered this tidbit of fact from Norse mythology. Pay attention in school, kids. Lesson learned.

Theoretically, because Thor turns back to Don when separated from the hammer for more than 60 seconds, Thor could throw it TOO FAR, turn back into the "lame doctor" and get smashed by his own hammer! Whoa! Living on the edge!

My honest confession is that I wish I could do this. Captain America's shield, boomerangs, things are cooler when they fly back at you. What makes Thor's hammer the best is that it flies back in a convenient catching position! Every time.

Thor's Powers #6

I don't care what anyone says, I'm counting this as a power.

Thor's hammer, Mjolnir, is so heavy that no one can lift it. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby made a big deal about this for a while, but then later in "The Tomorrow Man" a robot takes his hammer, and other people/gods/aliens/celtic-warriors are always trying to take it, so I guess they missed the memo.

Thor's Powers #5

Okay, when most of us think of our wing-helmeted friend, this is the power we associate with him.

I've always thought this power was one of the most interesting, considering other heroes in the Marvel universe command the elements just by thinking about it: Storm, etc.

How cool is it that Thor actually has to bump his hammer a certain amount of times for a desired effect. Two times=thunderstorm, four times=lightning, 84 times=six inch sub? I wonder if he's ever tried thumping the mystic mallet on the ground that many times...

Thor-toon!

Check it out!

I'm not above posting some of my fan-art. :D

Thor's Powers #4

Digging Power!!!

Not only can Thor dig like a mole on steroids, but the dirt seems to dematerialize! On the video game idea, imagine the red faction rocket launcher blowing holes in walls and making tunnels. Yeah, this is a pretty cool power, even if it is "scientifically impossible".

Character Casting: Thor

As some of you may know, the same people who made the IRONMAN and the new HULK movies are also in the process of making some more Avenger movies, including Captain America, and you guess it, THOR!

This is Chris Hemsworth, the guy they've casted to play the Thunder God himself. You may remember him as the actor that played Captain Kirk's dad in the most recent Star Trek film, (he died at the beginning, remember?) What do you think of the decision?
